STRATEGIC PLANNING 2 /CLUB ASSEMBLY 27 March 2024

Rotary International’s strategic vision –

Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves’.

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use in their personal and professional relationships.

Of the things we think, say or do

  • ·        Is it the TRUTH?

  • ·        Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  • ·        Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  • ·        Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Why do we need a STRATEGY PLAN?

  • ·        It informs our decisions, growth & goals over the next 3-5 years.

  • ·        It defines our long-term objectives & how our short-term goals support that.

  • ·        Gives us a clear sense of where we are headed.

  • ·        Ensures resources are allocated around the most high impact priorities.

  • ·        Helps define our mission Statement, i.e., i.e., core purpose.

  • ·        Informs our Vision Statement, i.e., how we plan to get there.

The Rotary Action Plan launched 2019-20 challenges clubs to reverse declining membership.

  • ·        Increase our impact

  • ·        Expand our reach

  • ·        Enhance participant engagement and retention.

  • ·        Increase our ability to adapt

Rotary Southern Mitchell Strategic Issues Identified.

  • ·        Membership – not enough members to fill club roles & support projects.

  • ·        Public Image – connection with Council & community groups; community reach.

  • ·        Club Culture – activities need to be meaningful and enjoyable for members

The five pillars of a successful club

  1. ·        Membership

  2. ·        Projects/Programs

  3. ·        Fundraising

  4. ·        Public Image

  5. ·        Fun/Fellowship
