One way of gently introducing yourself to Rotary is to sign up as a “Friend of Rotary” (or for the purpose of insurance, as a “Rotary Volunteer”).
There's no obligation to attend or take part in anything, but you will always be our welcome guest if you do.
Becoming a Friend of Rotary allows you to share our ideals and objectives without the responsibility or commitment required from a full member. It also allows you to be part of Rotary to contribute to the community and to assist in projects and events when you are available to do so. Being a Friend of Southern Mitchell Rotary allows you to participate in fundraising events and projects, or to simply making donations to club projects. However, some activities are not specifically designed to raise funds. They can be to assist in a hands-on working way, or they can be just to socialise. Rotarians call this fellowship. It is an opportunity to enjoy activities and each other's company, catch up with old friends and make or develop new ones.

Receive our email newsletter keeping you aware of our activities
You have an open invitation to come along to any Rotary get together
It can lead to full time Rotary membership if desired.
What are the commitments ?
If you are volunteering on a project where children are involved, it is law in Australia that all adults hold a current Working With Children Check. There is no application cost for volunteers.
How much does it cost ?
There is no membership fee for a Rotary Friend.
We do ask you to pay the cost of your chosen meal (if you choose to have a meal) and drinks at Trackside when you attend our Get Togethers.
NOTE: Donated funds cannot to used to cover volunteer expenses. We are one of the few organisations that ensure that every dollar we raise goes to the purpose intended. As such, volunteers and Rotarians cover our own expenses.
How do I attend a club dinner meeting ?
Simply submit the form below as a Rotary Friend before 10am on the morning before the Wednesday Get Together. Come along from 6.30 for a 7.00pm start. If you wish to eat with us (your decision as it is optional), order and pay for your meal at the Bistro on arrival, tell them your first name and that it is to come out at 7.30pm with Rotary meals.
